The Burlongs is a small development of retirement apartments situated off Glebe Road close to the centre of the town. The town has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and many facilities including a leisure centre all within easy walking distance.

The market town of Wootton Bassett is well placed for east-west communications being just south of the M4 motorway at Junction 16 and about five miles from the centre of Swindon. The High Street has a number of seventeenth and eighteenth century houses and at one end is the old town hall now restored preserving the ducking-stool and stocks. Nearby is Lydiard Park, the ancestral seat of the Viscounts Bolingbroke, with its beautiful parkland and woodlands.
