Knutsford is an historic market town, it boasts over 150 listed buildings and was made ‘Royal’ after a visit from Princess Victoria, later to become Queen Victoria. The famous Victorian authoress, Mrs Gaskell, spent her formative years in Knutsford and based her novel ‘Cranford’ on the town.
